On June 23, 1972, Title IX was signed into law. It was a landmark gender equity law that banned sex-based discrimination in federally funded education programs. This June marks its 50th anniversary, and we’re collaborating with the @womenssportsfoundation to celebrate. We’re inspired daily by athletes on Strava – they’ve started movements, encourage others to find passion in sport, and continue to fight for gender equity and inclusion in spaces where that’s never been the case. So over the next six weeks, we’ll be telling the stories of 10 women and non-binary athletes we look up to. Our “Changing the Game” content series will feature Noor Abukaram, Alison Mariella Désir, KC Cross, Mary Kate Callahan, Lauren Lubin April, Latoya Snell, Rahaf Khatib, Mariah Dyson, Lauren Pickman and Teresa Baker. Each athlete brings a unique perspective to the table and we’ll highlight how their voices are changing the game in their respective communities. But they aren’t here to shoulder the weight ...
