On the day of the ride, Calvin found the strength to keep pushing by focusing on his goal to finish, soaking up cheers from his friends, and taking the chance to rub elbows with elite and pro cyclists at the event. Also, because I planned to launch an attack on Peter Stetina in the finishing straight as he was coming into the finish to win the Waffle. Unfortunately, I couldn’t because his moto-escort told me to get off the road and wait for him to pass. I thought it would be a funny story to tell people I finished BWR before Stetina, even though he rode 60 miles more...
