Every year I’d like to explain more and more backstory of what goes on behind the scenes when a family member of yours is suffering with a cancerous disease. As the youngest I didn’t know much of what was going on but learned very quickly to always stay positive, keep out the negativity and ignore the noise. And as the years have gone on I’ve taken that as a life lesson to stay positive and ignore the noise, whether it be in a game, work, or on the field. Being in the environment of the hospital most would think it’s very dreary and quiet, but the Weaver room was loud (not surprising) full of laughter and always having a good time. Lily made the most of her time there, making lifelong friends with nurses, doctors, or other patients. Lily not only wanted to help other children with childhood cancer, but wanted to open up a brand new door to them, letting them know they weren’t alone. Finally, the Weaver household has and will always be in good spirits because of how Lily enlightened us ...
