Have you ever visited an escape room? The attraction option hit the market in 2007—and now there are approximately 14,000 worldwide, according to Regiondo. Ferrum College in Franklin County jumped on the trend, offering themed escape room opportunities for its students. We chose to highlight this unique resource for learning as our

Through the end of September, students can experience the college's newest iteration: the Murder Mystery Escape Room. Like other themes before it—including Victorian Love Letters, Banned Books and Misinformation, and more—the game will have a series of defined goals and outcomes. Students and professors can work together as a team to complete the mission.
"No matter what escape room we are doing, none of them can be completed without teamwork and creative thinking," said Rachel Walton, interlibrary loan coordinator, in a media release.
