Repost from usafa_supt • Our ⚾ baseball ⚾ field has a new name... one signifying honor, commitment and character. The field was dedicated last week to Brig. Gen. Philip Erdle. A West Point graduate ('52) who became an Air Force officer, Brig. Gen. Erdle flew dozens of aircraft during his career. He was among the first cadre of instructors when the Academy opened its doors in Colorado Springs and spent almost 20 years here as a professor, baseball coach, NCAA representative and vice dean of faculty. Dr. Erdle exemplified what it means to be a leader of character. He influenced hundreds of cadets in the classroom and on the field during his career and after his retirement when he stayed connected with the Academy. So next time you go out to an AF baseball game...check out where it's being played. At Erdle Field you know lessons in character are being sown inning after inning. ⚡#GoAirForce ⚡ af_bsb westpoint_usma
