In January 2022, East Coast Greenway Alliance Deputy Director Niles Barnes celebrated the ribbon cutting for the newest segment of the East Coast Greenway in Fort Pierce, Florida, the SUN Trail at Indian Hills Recreation Area. When fully completed, this 26-mile segment of the SUN Trail will allow access to pristine beaches, an active deep-water port, the historic downtown Fort Pierce and a state park - in one of the fastest-growing areas of the country. Connecting People to Place: The nonprofit East Coast Greenway Alliance leads the development of a walking and biking route stretching 3,000 miles from Maine to Florida.
