Have you ever thought about the power of a bicycle? twowheelviewyyc, founded in 2001, is a Calgary-based non-profit that uses the bicycle as a vehicle for change in the lives of local youth. Their Earn-a-Bike program is changing lives by giving participants a chance to earn a gently used bicycle, a new lock and helmet, a tool kit, a City of Calgary pathway map, and a best pathways book from local author Lori Beattie. And they’re on track for 300 participants to earn bikes this school year! Their programming sees 24 groups of students per school year, spending 4 days per week in the community with their programming. And with 1,300 bikes donated to Two Wheel View each year, the impact just keeps growing.
