Andy and Bax, a venerable military surplus and outdoor store in Southeast Portland, is closing its doors after nearly 80 years in business. The store quietly announced its impending closure on Facebook on Tuesday morning with a photo of a banner that hung outside its store on 324 S.E. Grand Ave. that read: “After 78 years we are retiring” and “20% off everything.” The post only included a photo of the banner and no further explanation.
