Michael Penix Jr. suffered 4 injuries while playing for the Indiana Hoosiers. He told me the toughest injury was his second ACL tear. “So the way they did it was they took my patella tendon out of one knee the first time, second time they took it out of my other knee.” “I was like okay they took my patella tendons, next thing they’re gonna take is a hamstring, but that wasn’t strong enough. So it’s like dang I can’t go through this again.” I asked him how he battled through all of that adversity. “It was hard for me to enjoy football at that time but like I said, just having those people around me to continue to support me and lift me up.
