Less than six months ago a dirtbike crash in Vietnam left me with a lacerated Achilles and dashed my hopes of a summit soda filled summer. But a constant goal I had during my recovery was this trip to Japan for the adventuretravelassociation world summit and my ambitious sign up for summiting 8 mountains in Hokkaido’s Daisetsuzan National Park, including Hokkaido’s tallest summit, Asahi-dake with adhokkaidotours. The last six days have been a dream come true to not only feel the strongest I’ve felt since before the accident, but to do it in an unbelievably beautiful place.
