Rescued flamingo returns to the wild thanks to seaside4thebirds 🦩 Pinellas County and spcatampabay assisted in the rescue of this beautiful flamingo near St. Pete Beach. It was then brought to Seaside Seabird Sanctuary to receive care. It was successfully brought back into the wild. We are happy to see the affectionately named Peaches doing so well! From Seaside Seabird Sanctuary: “We are incredibly excited to share that we collaborated with Jerry Lorenz of Audubon Florida and Frank Ridgley of Zoo Miami who started the Florida Flamingos Working Group, and they fitted Peaches with a federal band, a resight band, and a satellite transmitter in order to track their movements. Peaches is only the second flamingo ever to be banded in the U.S., and the transmitter will provide incredibly valuable data and insight into their movements for at least 2-3 years.
