My basement has gone from an unfinished empty storage space to my sneaker closet and studio. It’s still nothing special to look at (unfinished, and random things stored everywhere) but my corner of that space has become my own personal get away. Most evenings I’m down there, reorganizing sneakers, and taking pictures. When I’ve explained what I do down there to some friends and neighbors, I’ve gotten some odd looks. I try and explain why I like it, but most people don’t understand, which is fine. Just because others don’t get the “why” behind what you do, doesn’t mean it doesn’t have significance. Through the ups and downs of creativity, this space has been my consistent space through it all, and I’m very grateful to have it. I’m also grateful for anyone who has offered support and kindness since I started doing this. I’ve never really had a goal other than having fun with taking photos, but I want to expand that more.
