Impactful Individual: Brenda Peters Rawls College distinguished alumna, Brenda Peters earned her degree in 1974, during a time when few women studied accounting. Throughout her successful career as a CPA, she faced unique challenges as an African-American woman in a male-dominated industry. However, with the support of her mentors, she landed a job at one of the then Big Eight accounting firms. Today, she continues to give back to TexasTech by establishing scholarships and supporting student recruitment.
