Dylan DeClerck stands on the grass at the Urbandale softball and soccer complex and takes a quick break. The Clive native, a professional ultimate frisbee player for the mnwindchill, has been catching throws from his dad Jamie and heaving them across the field into a golf net when a woman walks by. “You’re so impressive,” she yells to DeClerck. DeClerck, who is dripping sweat and getting ready to go through another round of drills with his father on the mostly empty field, smiles when he hears the comment. Moments like this are rare, especially when he’s essentially in his backyard training. When it comes to ultimate frisbee, DeClerck really is impressive. The 28-year-old Urbandale resident, who helps run a non-profit during the day, is one of the top defenders in the theaudl.
