A new "home" in Ankeny doubles as an interactive work of art for trail-goers. The new Northwestern Trailhead in Ankeny, part of the hightrestletrail, features artist matthewmazzotta's piece "Drop In," a house-like structure that evokes the experience of hanging out on a friend's porch and listening to music. Visitors can relax on porch swings and set their phones in a gramophone sculpture that amplifies sound. The trailhead, located north of the intersection of Irvinedale Drive and Northwest 18th Street, also includes a restroom, a water station, a bike repair station, a shelter, picnic tables and a parking lot.
