Most people don’t realize this but….. being a black woman in sports you have to work THREE times as hard. Not to just get a job in sports but to keep elevating in the sports industry. Disclaimer: some of you may get mad about the truth I’m about to share but if the shoe fits, wear it 😘 🤎 We have to work EVEN harder to prove we know sports and deserve to be in the industry 🤎 We have to have outstanding resumes and referrals to even be considered because we can’t rely on nepotism and our families playing golf with the owner to get hired 🤎 We have to conform to the women around us and are scared to bring our natural selves to work. 🤎 We are forced to remain silent because speaking up can be deemed DISRESPECTFUL or categorized as an angry black woman. 🤎 We have to show up as our best selves daily and be nearly perfect at every project and assignment fearing that our days are numbered or our spot can be taken by a peer. 🤎 We are often times in debt working in sports and ...
