Our favorite William Friedkin film is TO LIVE AND DIE IN L.A. (1985), an action-packed neo-noir that Friedkin co-wrote. Willem Dafoe stars as a counterfeiter and William Peterson as the Secret Service agent sent to bring him in. The lines between “good” and “evil”get very blurry as Peterson’s character will stop at nothing. As he showed with FRENCH CONNECTION (1971), Friedkin has a way with a car chase…these are real stunts, not CGI. Sure, he is known for THE EXORCIST, the film that started the enduring “evil kid” subgenre, but his crime pictures are brilliant too. Rest in Peace Mr. Friedkin #1980s #80sfilm #crime #thriller #action #1980sfit #willemdafoe #williampeterson #toliveanddieinla
