Thousands of migrating Vaux’s swifts are once again drawing large crowds to Portland’s Chapman Elementary as they swarm above the school’s chimney during sunset. The birds fill the sky nightly as the sun goes down and then eventually all funnel into the school’s chimney to roost creating a dazzling tornado effect.
