World Marks One Year Since Death Of Mahsa Amini Protestors across the globe marched in memory of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian woman who died in the custody of Iran’s morality police after allegedly not wearing her hijab properly. Amini’s death on September 16, 2022 sparked mass outrage and months of protests across Iran. The uprising was largely led by women who adopted the rallying cry “Women, Life, Freedom”.
