U.S. News & World Report ranked Providence College #1 among regional universities in the north for the fifth consecutive year. The college shared the top spot with Rhode Island School of Design and Bentley University. PC has been ranked among the top five colleges in the northeast by U.S. News & World Report for more than 25 years. Among the northeast schools, the college also rose to #7 on the most innovative schools list and #115 for social mobility. It appeared at #21 on the list for Best Value Schools and #5 for best undergraduate teaching program. In addition, Providence was ranked for the first time for two undergraduate academic programs: the economics program was #165 in the nation and psychology (pcpsych) was #203.
