After running a 10K race in just over an hour, Alisha Carter stood near the finish line of the Martin Luther King Dream Run in North Portland on Sunday, dancing, stretching and cheering for others who finished their races. “To see the things that you worked hard for, to see them happen in real time and to come across the finish line and give it all that you have – it’s just amazing,” Carter said. “We have good music, good people; this is what it’s about,” she added, pausing to whoop in support of another finisher.
