The contagion of labor unrest that has hit Portland-area hospitals this year has spread to Oregon Health & Science University. OHSU nurses voted by a wide margin to authorize a strike, officials with the Oregon Nurses Association announced Monday. At a rally Monday morning, officials said 96% of eligible nurses voted and 95% of them voted in favor of authorizing a strike. The affirmative vote means that union officials could give OHSU 10 day’s notice of a work stoppage.
