Jessie Jo Van Bockel had many struggles in her childhood. In addition to her own trauma, she lost her stepbrother to suicide when she was 14 and a cousin some years later. She saw they weren't the only young men dying by suicide, and she knows men especially need encouragement to get treatment for mental health concerns. She has found support from different people in her life, including her significant other and a pastor. She encourages people to be there for one another to help one another carry life's burdens. This story is part of our #30Days30Stories project for #NationalSuicidePreventionMonth where we share stories of resilience from those struggling with mental health or suicide related challenges. Read and watch a video of Jessie's story in the link in our bio. Keep the power going: If you're moved by this story, please share!
