@MLS Players Association
"The type of player the league depends on is simultaneously the type of player that the league takes advantage of." In part four of our docuseries, we take a look at life in MLS after the first CBA and a more tumultuous 2010 negotiation. Arguably the biggest issue at hand: the fact that there were players finding themselves facing pay plateaus or cuts with no option of playing elsewhere.  Things started getting real as the second deal deadline approached and players contemplated all of their options, including a strike.  Former players and PA staff describe what it took to get to the end result of cracking the door to free agency and how players work not for themselves, but the generation of players coming after them in each CBA.
