We're celebrating a different kind of touchdown this Sunday ⁣🪨🙌 ⁣ Our OSIRIS-REx mission returned the first asteroid sample collected in space by the United States, today, Sept. 24.⁣ ⁣ The sample touched down at the Department of Defense’s Utah Test and Training Range near Salt Lake City at 8:52 a.m. local time, marking the end of a seven-year journey to map asteroid Bennu, collect a sample from its surface, and deliver it to Earth.⁣ ⁣ The next phase of the mission is just beginning.
