The Deep South's Oldest Rivalry meets for the 128th time this weekend.⁣ ⁣ The series began in 1892, as Auburn and Georgia met in Atlanta for the very first football game for each school. Auburn would win 10-0.⁣ ⁣ The game was held almost yearly in Atlanta until it moved to Macon, GA in 1904. From 1916 to 1958, the majority of games were held in Columbus, GA. Auburn's home games would finally move to campus in 1960. Other cities that hosted the rivalry game would include Montgomery, AL, Savannah, GA, and, of course, Athens, GA as early as 1912.⁣ ⁣ As for the uniforms, things changed slightly over the years. In the 1970s, Georgia wore red pants on the road. For the 1978 meeting, Auburn shocked everyone and broke out orange jerseys for the first time in 23 years.⁣ ⁣ Two years later, Auburn would once again wear orange for the Georgia game. The Bulldogs had already switched to their now-traditional silver pants by that point.⁣ ⁣ The 1990s was a time for many relatively minor uniform change...
