Jerry Cook has been living, learning, growing and recovering from loss and suicide loss most of his life. His father died by suicide just before his fifth birthday and in 2019 he lost his sister too. Ever since he was a child, Jerry has known what loss and the associated grief and trauma feels like. He and his wife cofounded MindBodyHeart Pathways to help support others who may need coaching, counseling, psychiatry services and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. Jerry also serves as a Lost&Found board member and helps support others who are facing suicide loss.
This story is part of our
#30Days30Stories project for
#NationalSuicidePreventionMonth where we share stories of resilience from those struggling with mental health or suicide related challenges.
