The last of my summer shows came down this week. My window installation at the Tempe Post Office on Mill Ave was up from early May through late September. I really got to play with a new way of displaying the Post Postpartum Postcards series and expand on the project concept.
The original postcards were bound together using mailing labels. I used the Ogham alphabet to write “Post Postpartum Postcards” on the binding.
The vinyl was cut into triangles that represent the creator and the people coming together. I also used black strips to create the Ogham characters to spell out the word “POST”. (AT THE POST OFFICE!!! How could I not do this!?!?)
This opportunity was possible because of my time as artist-in-residence at the
@TempeArts this summer. đź’–
