On Wednesday, Cui competed in the Asian Games’ women’s street skateboarding competition where she outperformed her 18-year-old teammate Zeng Wenhui and earned praise for her landing off a difficult high rail. Cui reportedly employed a conservative strategy on her first run to secure some points and then pushed for a higher score on her second run, which proved successful even though she missed her last three tricks.
Zeng secured silver, while Japan’s Miyu Ito, 16, took home the bronze medal.
