Many Midwesterners suffer from seasonal depression, but for Nichelle Lund, who hails from Texas, this was a new mental health challenge she learned to navigate after moving to Sioux Falls. The deeper depressive episodes coupled with the trauma of a physical assault she experienced while running left Nichelle feeling alone.
After hitting a pothole, Nichelle's rock bottom, intrusive thoughts increased, and she struggled opening up with friends and family about how she was feeling. She sought out support using betterhelp and eventually was referred to a local group focusing on trauma-based healing.
