Day 36 - Badassery
It’s one of my most favorite pics for three reasons: my arms - duh. The Vikings - double duh. And it was taken at the State Fair - triple duh.
This was a period of my life I felt the most badass. Why? Well again, the muscles, duh. But underneath that, it was about what got me there. The pain I turned into power. The commitment to progress I made to myself. The grit it took to keep going. The perseverance I practiced to move beyond utter heartbreak into foundational self love.
This is evidence I’d survived 100% of my worst days thus far.
Badassery is what you define it to be. For me - it means to keep showing up. It means to be open and keep loving, risking loss. It means to be compassionate and kind. It means to be true to myself, writing and living my life story, as I want to, not as I feel the world expects me to. It means making mistakes and realizing we will learn until our last breath.
