Freshly evicted from a life I’d known for the previous 12 years, I listened and then truly HEARD those words that night. I was broken hearted then. Nursing deep gashes and giant crevices in my heart. And yet I knew in the deepest corners of my soul, this eviction, from a life I’d known and lived, was not the best life for me. And in time, with work, my heart would heal, the pain would subside, and like the rising sun on an early summer morning, I’d see the hope in the light and the opportunity of a new day. • The pain doesn’t mean the eviction is wrong. Life changes are hard. Especially when unexpected. But, hard isn’t bad. It’s just effing hard. • So for any of you who are in the deep end of pain, in the throes of eviction, remember the eviction comes with an invitation. Open your hearts. Receive it. Accept it.
