I have this thing where I snap a pic of my ink when I'm in new and meaningful places, when I'm doing things that fill my heart. "Graceful" to remind me to give myself grace (I'm not so good at that). "Warrior" to remind myself I am a fighter; a warrior who has already fought and won many battles, and so too, will I win the next one. And the one after that. • • And a writer's plume at the end, to remind myself that I am the author of my own story. That no one else gets to decide how my story is written or my life lived. It is my life to live, and I will live it according to my own desires, expectations, and wants. • • I'm learning to toss aside the rules and expectations of others.
