C2C (junior) Joshuah Ramirez is not the first in his family to serve, but is the first to attend
#youracademy.
All four of Joshuah's older sisters joined the service- two Airmen, one Marine and one Army Lt. Joshuah says he chose the Air Force Academy because his sisters instilled in him a sense of pride in being a part of something bigger than himself.
That family influence also shows through in his Hispanic heritage pride. Joshuah says he likes sharing his experiences and way of life with others - those experiences include his family's Bolivian, Brazilian, Puerto Rican and Guatemalan backgrounds. He believes diversity helps create strength in the military by including various perspectives and thought processes while maintaining focus on the mission.
