Lee shared her story with cadets and spoke about her life as a retired teacher, counselor, and activist in the movement to make Juneteenth a federally-recognized holiday.
Also during her visit she received a brief tour of the Academy grounds, including stops at both the Tuskegee Airman and Women Airforce Service Pilots memorials located on the Honor Court.
In 2021, then 94-year-old Lee was at the White House when President Biden signed the bill making Juneteenth a federal holiday.
