And this year's commencement speaker is....Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, III. The 28th Secretary of Defense will address the Class of 2022 at their graduation ceremony on May 25. Austin graduated from West Point and served 41 years in the Army, which included command at the corps, division, battalion, and brigade levels. Austin led the Army’s 3rd Infantry Division during the invasion of Iraq in 2003, served as the Army’s Vice Chief of Staff, and retired in 2016 as the Commander of U.S. Central Command, responsible for all military operations in the Middle East and Afghanistan.
