#Innovation took center stage last week as we celebrated the Annual Dean's Research Awards and Cadet Falcon Tank competition. The Dean's Research Awards recognized cadets and faculty for outstanding accomplishments in research covering topics from space domain imaging to preventing blood hemorrhaging to extending aircraft engine life and thrust. Maj. Gen. Heather Pringle, Commander of @afresearchlab, was keynote speaker. Maj. Gen. Pringle also joined Lt. Gen. Rich Clark, #youracademy's superintendent, and Brig. Gen. Linell Letendre, dean of faculty, in judging the Falcon Tank competition. That's where cadets shared their ideas for apps to help save cadets time doing laundry, 3-D printed shields to protect satellites from space debris and strategies for palm oil sustainability. In the end, the project that seeks to use biomaterials to create cement on Mars was named the Falcon Tank winner.
