This week's #FirstieFriday wasn't the first in his family to set foot on the famed footprints. C1C Michael Kaminski says his brother's (David Kaminski, #USAFA2020) experience at the academy is part of the reason he wanted to come here. Michael also wanted to set himself up for success. And he's doing just that. He'll pursue a master's degree in operations research after graduating next month with an ops research major and Russian minor. Michael says one of the best experiences during his time here was the summer he spent in Latvia as part of the Cadet Summer Language Immersion Program. He says he's learned to take advantage of those kind of opportunities because he says you don't know what doors will open from simply saying yes.
