Being an AMT is a special military duty that carries special meaning to MSgt Brian Kelsey.
Kelsey is one of over 100 Academy Military Trainers (AMTs) at
#youracademy and says the role AMTs play in cadets' lives is meaningful.
These non-commissioned officers provide cadets with more than just military training. They also provide perspective on military life, an ear for venting, a word or two of advice, and some tough love all with a common goal- getting the cadets to graduation.
Kelsey says he cares about his cadets' success as well as their overall well-being, “We often forget to deal with the emotional side of being a warrior,” he said. “We talk about what a warrior looks like in the
@usairforce, but we never talk about the emotional aspects of being a warrior. I’m concerned about my cadets emotionally, too. It’s not just about training or being hard-charging all the time.”
