As we approach the 20th anniversary of 9/11 we asked cadets- many of whom were not alive or old enough to remember the events of that day- how 9/11 has impacted their lives and their decision to serve. What we found is a passion to serve and dedication to not let America forget what happened in New York, at the Pentagon and in the skies above Pennsylvania 20 years ago. We start with the story of Max Buck, Class of 2024. Max wasn't alive on 9/11, but the events that day hit hard and close to home. Max's dad serves in the New York Fire Department - he was there on 9/11 and spent countless hours at Ground Zero in the weeks that followed.
