Tech Sgt. Phillip Shane is the Flight Chief of the Falcon Satellite Program and Cadet Space Operations Squadron. He's been with us for about four months and is excited about what's to come during his assignment. "I love that I get to teach and mentor cadets while still getting to do space here at USAFA," he said. He previously worked at the 533rd Training Squadron as a Course Developer and CCAF Instructor teaching Missile Warning and Missile Defense, ISR, Space Weather, and Orbital Mechanics. On the importance of the space mission, he said, "Using space for operational purposes gives us the ability for freedom of action, overflight, and global perspective and responsiveness.
