Wednesday marked the first House Games Day of this academic year, as students competed in dodgeball, touch football, a soccer shootout, knockout basketball, Drawful and chess.
All students are members of one of six houses named after prominent Jesuits — Arrupe, Campion, Gonzaga, Jogues, Loyola and Xavier — and the competition, brotherhood and camaraderie of the CHS House System carry through their four years.
The House System builds an additional infrastructure of smaller communities within our larger school community. It helps build stronger bonds and connections between students throughout all four grades as well as with the faculty.
Our house system also offers leadership opportunities — seniors who become House Prefects help organize and run the House Games activities.
Jogues House won the day by taking first place in knockout basketball, Drawful and shared first with Xavier in chess. Campion took dodgeball and touch football and Loyola won the soccer shootout.
