New York Chinese Scholar’s Garden: Must Visit NYC Gardens Part 1 🌳
Step into one of the only authentic classical outdoor Chinese gardens built in the United States, located in Staten Island’s Snug Harbor.
The garden is inspired by Ming Dynasty gardens (1368-1644 AD) and all the architectural components were fabricated in Suzhou, China.
Explore a bamboo forest path, eight pavilions, waterfalls, a Koi pond, Chinese calligraphy, and more. It is so peaceful and relaxing here, and pretty quiet most days.
Admission:
• $5 for adults
• $4 for students + seniors
• Free for children 5 and under
• Free for Staten Island residents on the first Friday of each month
Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden’s main outdoor grounds and gardens are free and open to the public.
How to get there: Take the Staten Island Ferry (free) and then the S40 bus will take you from St. George Ferry Terminal straight to Snug Harbor in about 20 minutes.
This stunning garden is definitely...
