Welcome to the entrance of the Big Cypress National Preserve. This is one of the many places to explore in the National Preservation. This here is bend boardwalk trail. This was the first location of my southern Florida journey, just an hour from Naples begins the start of Big Cypress. Instead of cruising right by it I wanted to get my camera instincts going so I stopped here for about an hour. The path itself is only half a mile long but a keen observer will notice the variety of wildlife and plants that the region has to offer. I saw my first gator of the trip swimming in the flag pond at the end of the boardwalk and walked by interesting tree formations and floral. There seemed to be an abundance of these small bugs that were black with yellow stripes.
