A few fall hiking reminders:
Make sure your shoes are trail ready. Check for worn down tread, cracks in midsoles and frayed laces.
Keep hydrating! Yes, even though it’s cooler.
Eat up! Hiking takes a lot of energy so keep the fuel coming. I love daveskillerbread so I’m stoked about their new Crunchy Snack Bites. I’ve tried Super Cinna Roll, Epic Everything and Heavenly Honey Nut. The whole grains will keep you going and they’re perfectly portable for the trail. You can grab them at Sprouts, in the Arizona area, in the granola/cereal aisle.
Take breaks. Taking a 5-10 minute break every 1/2 hour to hour can remove metabolic waste that can build up in your legs and slow you down.
Be proud of your hike! Whether your hike is long or short, you belong here. Just getting outside makes you “outdoorsy”.
