When COVID-19 divided @VanderbiltOwen professor Jesse Blocher’s class among those who could attend in person and those who are quarantined around the world, Blocher was determined to ensure that all of his students could participate. To make learning equitable for those in disparate time zones, Blocher teaches one class in person in the late afternoon and then teaches the class again online at 7 a.m. for his students living in Egypt, South Korea, India and China.
