Q: What made you choose your majors?
A: I’m actually pre-dental. Ever since middle school I’ve wanted to be a dentist. I thought I was going to have to rely on biology, chemistry, all of the sciences... and then what I found out about Vanderbilt was that they had the Medicine, Health & Society program, which I think is a pretty good combination between all of the sciences but also the public health or social side of healthcare. So that’s what pulled me toward MHS - the fact that I could fulfill my pre-reqs for dental school but also take classes I’m a little more interested in too. As for Spanish – I’ve been taking it since middle school and I think it is super helpful for any profession, not even just medicine, but I knew if I continued Spanish it would help me with a lot of my patients that I hope to serve when I am a dentist....
