Q: What got you into English and Medicine, Health, & Society?
A: I used to be an English and Bio major because I wanted to move to Africa and do research and write about large cats. But I dropped my Bio major because it was really hard, so I put all the STEM I've taken towards MHS, and I'm hoping to be in international relations and journalism. I still want to move to Africa - that's still the plan.
Q: Any specific African country?
A: Yeah, Kenya and Tanzania are my top places right now. I really would like to work in the Maasai Mara because it's the most concentrated area of wildlife in Africa.
Q: So with journalism, how would you incorporate that into your areas of interest?
A: I do a lot of nonfiction writing, and that's actually one of my focuses... like personal essays and articles. Hopefully, I will be published in places like National Geographic.
