In 4th grade, Lou accidentally hit a teacher with a spitball. As punishment, he had to write a paper on Stan Musial, Joe DiMaggio and Jackie Robinson, who had just broken Major League Baseball’s color barrier. This led to his love of the game. He listened to the words of

#HarryCaray on the radio as they described in bold detail the game in which he would go on to become a Legend.
