The basketball world lost a Giant. #LuteOlson, #HallofFame Coach, passed away in Arizona on Thursday. He turned @uarizona into a hoops powerhouse. For 23 straight seasons he took #TheWildcats to postseason tourney play and in 1997 led by @mike_bibby_10, #MichaelDickerson, @jasonterry31 and @milessimon34 cut down the nets to bring Arizona its 1st #NationalChampionship. Coach Olson also helmed Long Beach City College, Long Beach State and the University of Iowa before heading to the desert. He was nicknamed #MidnightLute because of his reputation as a recruiter which would often see him swoop in and sign a player right when another squad thought they had the youngster on lock. #RIP Coach.
